Resident Fellows
Work Sample Requirements

In order for your application to be considered by the panel, you must adhere to the following guidelines.

ALL DISCIPLINES: Current work is requested.  Indicate date of completion on work sample.  The nature of the work sample submitted should correspond to the nature of the work you propose to do while in residence. An applicant's work sample is the most significant feature of his or her application.

Your name and the date of completion should appear on the sample. Do not send books or bound manuscripts. All writing samples should be printed single-sided and double-spaced in an easily readable font unless in play or screenplay format. Submit  three copies of writing samples as follows:

Fiction: 20 pages of fiction: a novel excerpt, a story or stories
Poetry: 10 pages of poetry
Nonfiction: 20 pages of nonfiction (essays, articles, non-fiction book)

VISUAL ART: Submit 8-12 images of  recent work with three copies of a list with the artist's name, title of the piece, medium, size and year of completion. You may submit slides in plastic mounts  or images on a CD readable by both MACs and PCs. Each slide should have TOP clearly marked and be labeled with your name, title, and a number corresponding to the list. CD files should be labeled in the same way; files no more than 1MB each. Edenfred retains 2 slides or the CD for accepted visual artists.
